1821 disinfected mail from Corfu, Ionian Islands to Dublin, Ireland struck with circular ''ISOLE IONIE'' handstamp in bluish ink with ''5d.'' manuscript inserted. Disinfected with vertical slits at Otranto with straight line ''OTRANTO'' in red, manuscript ''15'' on front applied at Naples in grana. The letter then passed through Venice, Augsburg, to London (May 24) and on to Dublin where charged ''6/-'' (shillings) in manuscript.
